Bei mir mache ich das so (XFree 4.2.0):

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Mouse0"
        Driver "mouse"
        Option "Protocol" "Auto"
        Option "Device" "/dev/sysmouse"
        Option "Buttons" "5"
        Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection

KDE 3-Programme und z.B. auch StarOffice haben die Nutzung der
Mausrad-Funktion bereits onboard. Bei anderen (z.B. dem Acrobat
Reader) ist eventuell der Einsatz von imwheel nötig.
